::Cody's milestones::
Cody's Milestones are so different then babies born with no birth defects. Cody is a very, Very, strong willed baby!!
he just keeps impressing us each and every day..
We now see the light at the end of the tunnel, Cody's biggest milestone this year is The mickey button (G-tube)
as he puts weight on, he can have more time off the vent!!
22-24 months 10-2-09-12-2-09
Cody has come a very long way in the past couple months. He is 2 years old Now!!
Milestones for the past couple months have been close to the same. He is off the vent 6 hours a day, 3 in the am and 3 in the pm.
he is just like any other toddler boy, Into everything, playing with his trucks and cars, walking around every where. We are very proud of him!!
potty training in real training has been going great!!!

Cody has been crushing, and taking taking steps. standing longer.
He had his 1st hair cut.
Has also been using sign language more,
NEW SIGNS.

The biggest milestone is Cody is now potty training!!!
and now crawling up the stairs..
walks around more with his toy walker..
20 Month's (8-2-09)

Cody knows about 15 signs now. Mom , Dad, LaLa, ( for Mikala) Dog, More, eat, drink, Book, Want, up, thank you, smart, no, bye, And BLUES CLUES!!
He is starting to use his signing more and more each day. he smiles and claps now knowing he can talk to us.. |
Cody is now standing on his own. the longest has been 4 mins. he now also moves his arms and claps when he is standing!!

Cody kept getting sick on and off all summer, Could not kept his NG feeds down. So he was not gaining the weight he should to come off the vent longer during the day. On 8-7-09 he got rid of the feeding tube in his nose ( NG) and got to get a G-tube, Its right on his belly. Called a Mickey Button. And he got this other surgery called Fundoplication; (Nissen) &A g-tube (gastrostomy tube)
Cody is due for a hair cut. I'm not in a hurry..

19 Month's (7-2-09)
You would never know by looking at Cody now, that he was such a sick little baby when he was born..
we are so proud of him!!!!
17 Month's (6-2-09)
He is every where during weaning time.
even taken Nala's bones from her. He just loves to play with her. he is so fast at getting around.
Sadly Cody is not putting the weight on like he should be so he is staying at 2 hours a day off the vent.
he can't keep his NG feeds down. This is due to using the Ng and his GERD. Over all He's doing awesome.
he's really picking up on his sign language. He knows MOM, DAD, LALA, (for sissy) DOG, MORE, BOOK, UP
Cody got baptized this month.
17 Month's (5-2-09)
Cody is now off the vent for 2 hours a day. he really loves crawling . ( it helped getting him off the vent)
he's such a fast learner..
16 Month's (4-2-09)
Cody Now is off the vent for 30 mins. He is doing good each day he just gets stronger.
he is enjoying the freedom of being able to explorer every where. Cody is getting better now at crawling,
it sure helped getting him off the vent for a while.
15 Month's (3-2-09) A great month for Cody
This month he has really grown up. he has been giving hugs, reaches for us to pick him up,
talking a lot more and really getting loud , has learned to sign MORE with his hands.

14 Month's (2-2-09)
Saying Baba, hi, DaDA, starting to sit up more on his own, had to get Glasses, ( fighting to keep them on him)
was sick again with tracheitis had to stay in Children's 2 and a half days. not to much this month.
13 Month's (1-2-09)
Loves to stand while we hold him, has got almost all his molars, physically Cody is doing good.
but, mentally he is something else! he is just to smart. he has been really watching us and copy's everything we do.
he has picked up on so much this past month. he holds his hands together ( hands open) then claps while his hands are together,
sticks his tongue out, says MA MA! does this strong man face when asked by his Nurse, loves to kiss,
we are also teaching him baby sign, he watches us. I think this is going to go great with Cody since he seems to want to learn a lot.
he has been eating great, since he is over being sick.
he is also testing like mad!! and so much more stronger when we have to do ties. he see's us get to things out and already is ready for war.
claps when his favorite shows come on T.V. On the 20th he watched the inauguration of President Barack Obama, and clapped when he seen everyone on t.v.

12 Month's (12-2-08)
Cody turned 1 years old! Nothing has changed much this month,
he has been sick on and off.. He does do a lot of copy cat things. he just so smart!!
11 Month's (11-2-08)
Cody wants to jump all the time when we hold him up. He has been also sitting up much better, and reaching for toys.
He will use tummy muscles to lean back to sitting up, He army crawls and kind of crawls back words.
The past couple days he now stands still as we hold him up and really is doing GREAT!
He is a T.V Junkie!! we have to turn off the T.V. a lot now during the day, Even if the news is on he watches it.
He claps when his favorite shows come on. Its so Funny.
Cody has come such a long way since he's been home. and its hard to believe he is turning 12 months next week.
He loves his books and flash cards, we think he is doing his own sign for when he needs to be suctioned. He will hit his chest and once we
start to suction him he puts his head back. he also tells us no and all done too. he has found his voice and I can hear him if I am up stairs.
He gets so loud when he is very excited.. he is such a very, very Happy baby. One bad thing Cody has started doing is testing big time...
He will pull on his vent tubing and look right at us. If we get upset he smiles. LOL.... he really has fun getting Daddy to jump!
I just give him toys and act like its no big deal, so he don't even bother testing Mommy much. He has now tested all the nurses with this trick and
see's they don't jump too. But when he's MAD!! watch out WOW!! We have to then tell him NO CODY! he has also been biting and pinching.
So over all, this vent/trach is a little set back, Other then those 2 things..... CODY is a smart 11 month old and doing just AWESOME!
10 Month's (10-2-08)

Shacking his head NO…….. Shacking his head up and down for YES…… Clapping with hands open………. And now waving at us.. Biting, pulling hair, pinching. He really fights us when its tie change time. ( wow)

9 Month's (9-2-08)
Cody's 2 big Milestones this month was coming home!! and sitting up alone for 4 mins.
8 Month's (8-2-08)
Eating baby food 3 times a day and drinking from sippy cup 3 times a day.
sleeping on belly, getting up on all 4's, rocking back and forth on all 4's. sitting up better with help,
putting toes in his mouth, crying when someone leaves his room, sitting up in high chair and doing great.
rolls over now to left and to right side, bangs toys together, has fun pulling his NG tube out when MAD!
7 Month's (7-2-08)
(7-2-08) Feedings from 24 hour feeds (feeding tube) to every 4 hour feeds. (132 cc's per feeding ) doing very good with holding
more feeds at one time. having no emeses. having baby food during off feeds, has been rolling to the left more. physical therapy very happy with the back of his head. Its getting much better with shape.( The back of his head was very flat due to laying on his back till he was 3 months) 7-9-08 he is laying on tummy and holding his head up and looking around!! getting 5th tooth, 7-9-08, pulls toes to mouth, makes a kissy face,
6 Month's (6-2-08)
Rolls over to tummy from (right side) got his 2 top teeth. sleeps on his tummy when in mood to do so, has been doing good with speech therapy,
doing taste with no problems using mouth muscles, swallows baby food during taste, Puts everything in his mouth, feeds went down to 22 hours a day.
Cody's personality has really started to show!! He just loves to smile and is such a happy baby. He also is great at testing new nurse's by pulling out his NG tube.
He has also been more vocal, When he get's very mad.... we can hear him cry.. he also has been laughing..

5 Month's (5-2-08)
Got his 1st tooth 5-11-08, got his 2nd tooth 5-24-08, Almost turns from side to tummy, loves to put everything
in his mouth, ( speech is very happy with him) lifts his head up while on tummy, puts hands behind his head when tired,

4 Months (4-2-08)
Puts both hands to his mouth, Sucking formula off his hands, lets me give him a bottle, He is learning slowly how to suck from it,
Turns from his sides to his back, Tummy time ( try's to turn over to his back) love his bouncy chair, Watches T.V., Holds both his hands together,
sticks his tongue out while smiling, holds his toys now and shacks them, Loves his froggy blanket. loves his bear with the heart beat.

3 Months (3-2-08)
Loves looking at his balloons, sucking on his fingers,
smiling big, being spoiled, sitting up in his bouncy chair & looking at everything
around him, flirting with the nurses. turning his head and looking when someone
talks to him. Is very strong and fights when he does not want to be messed with.
sleeping though the nights a lot more.
2 months (2-2-08)
Looking at drawings Mikala made for him. His birdie mobile. Mommy holding him.
1 Month (1-2-08)
staying awake during the day,
opening his eyes and looking at us when we talk to him. Had his C.D.H. repair surgery. 1-3-08
